Under Construction

You don't have to try and figure out this social media thing all on your own. I'll light the way!

Diam nonummy nibh eu feugiatmod tincidunt uretincidunt ure eu femod tincidunt ure eu fe nulla.

Sometimes, things don’t quite go as expected. OK, maybe a LOT of times things don’t go as expected. That is what happened to me recently. As you know, I use WordPress and that is what I suggest that all my clients use. I was also a huge advocate of the Thesis theme… up until recently.

In a nutshell, the VA Geek had a major meltdown and went boom.

I had been meaning to change themes, but I guess God thought it best that I do it now. Right now. Not later.

This was all the opportunity in the world for me to freak out. I did, a little. I gave myself about 20 minutes to go psychotic and cry.

Then I sucked it up and got to work trying to make it look normal. Unfortunately, there are times when things are going to crash and not work and cause you a heck of a fuss. I’m not going to say that dealing with those situations is easy, but we have to be prepared for them to happen.

Give yourself some time to freak out. Scream. Cry. Eat Chocolate. Do whatever you do under stress. I must have put on a ton of Stress Away oil to try and settle down. ( That has less calories than chocolate. ::winks::)

Phoning/Email/Texting/Messaging a friend works wonders too. Especially if they can help you through the sticky parts. Anything that you can’t figure out without causing a bald spot should be outsourced. I follow that methodology too. If I can’t do it, I’ll ask for help.

It’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help. It’s a sign of strength. Tweet this

TRUST ME, it is not the end of the world when things like this happen. Get everything up to running order. Make sure it is functional and worry about the pretty later. That is what you are going to see on the website now. It still works, but it is not as pretty as it used to be.

Have faith that things will work out. In the end, I was meaning to make this transition, just a little sooner than expected. I do hope that you like the new look while I am under construction!
