A Very Special Meeting

One of the best parts about being a virtual assistant is that a special relationship can develop between myself and a client. Some people like to keep everything strictly business and that is just fine with me too. The great part about what I do is getting to know what people need before they need it and place myself in their shoes of their customer so  I can help that entrepreneur generate ideas and be more successful.

I have never met a client in person. Working online, that really never happens unless you do lots of local networking. That’s not something that I do, although many others do. I meet everyone that I work with online.

Prior to our meeting, Sonya and I had never talked on the phone. We had been in lots of the same training circles and talked online for many years. That’s one of the amazing things about social media. One day, I was blessed that she chose me to work with her to help her with her ever growing corset business.

Recently, she approached me with a great way to help build her business her in the United States. Her business, The Burgandy Boudoir, is in the UK and she wanted to make shipping better for her US market. I was thrilled at the idea, but also nervous at the same time that she was flying in to see me so that the details could be worked out.

After spending 3 days together, we worked everything out, but we also got to have some fun at the same time. I’m honored to call her a friend and I’m really looking forward to us having a long lasting relationship together. We were able to brainstorm and come up with some great ideas for both of us. I’ve learned a lot from her and how she runs her business and what customer service means to her. Customer service is everything and she is proof that it makes all the difference.

The moral of the story is that you never know how things will turn out when you meet someone online. Be kind to everyone and do your best to help them. The odds of meeting someone in person is very rare, but you can still really get to know them through the power of social media too. It’s really important when you are working with a virtual assistant to find someone who resonates with you. When you do, you will know it. That’s when you will really notice a big difference in your business and know that you have found the right fit.

I’m so excited to have the chance to share this story with you. I hope you will visit her website and check out her GORGEOUS corsets! She brought me one as a gift so you’ll be seeing pictures of me showing it off very soon!
