Just like your audience, you see your graphics all day every day. It can even get to the point that you are bored looking at them yourself. Imagine how your audience feels! If you are sick of it, you know that they are. When things get busy, it is easy to forget about changing up your social media to keep things fresh. During the holiday season is a perfect time to put your best foot forward and really get into the holiday spirit. Don’t wait until Christmas to start making changes. Start in November before Thanksgiving if you really want to stand out. Here are some suggestions to get your social media ready for the holidays!
5 Ways to Decorate Social Media For the Holidays
Cover Images: These are the most obvious images to change. Your Google+, Twitter and Facebook covers are all begging to be changed for the holidays. Although Pinterest does not have a cover, you can change around your boards to move your holiday ones to the top row. You do have those, don’t you? You should! As for Instagram, you can begin incorporating some fun holiday images to add them into your regular content flow.
Don’t forget, you don’t need just one holiday cover. That is what the average entrepreneur will do, not you! Change it up multiple times during the season. It will keep things exciting. Don’t forget that when you change your Facebook cover, to change your description!
Newsletter Header: Depending on your provider — and I’m sure most have this feature — change up your newsletter header. If you don’t use a header and use templates, pick out some fun and festive holiday templates to get your audience in the spirit!
Graphics: This may seem like commonplace, but you will be surprised at how many entrepreneurs don’t have holiday posts. You can use content that you have used before and use a holiday image instead. This will also increase the likelihood that they will be shared because they are festive.
Profile Pictures: How long have you had the same profile image? Depending on your audience, wouldn’t it be fun for them to see you wearing a holiday outfit or even use the same image with the addition of a cute Santa or Elf hat? When people see your face, you want them to smile. Have some fun with it! Don’t forget to change your personal profile on Facebook as well.
Ads, Opt Ins and Miscellaneous: If you are posting about it, you can make it holiday themed! Craft your ad images with the holidays in mind, especially when you are doing sales. Same with your invitation to your opt-ins. Anything that you are posting in your business can be spiced up with a little bit of glitter and festive colors.
Think these are all great ideas, but you don’t have time or don’t feel that creative? It’s my specialty! I’d love to design some amazing holiday graphics that you will love. You can find out more here.
