The New Year is HERE!
The most exciting time of the year is at the beginning. We are all so pumped up and excited about ringing in the new year. So many new opportunities to explore, new ways to grow your business, new clients and customers to meet… I could go on and on! If you want your year to really be at its best, you’ve got to have a plan in place and some actionable steps that you can start putting into motion TODAY!
Here is how to Rock Your Business in 3 Easy Steps!
1. Have a plan: If you haven’t set down to write out your goals yet, even if its only by the quarter, start now. Don’t throw the idea aside because January is here. What goals do you want to achieve? Do you have a way to measure them? Are they attainable? Are they sustainable? Do you have a plan to build up to them? It’s better to have some ideas of where you want to go down on paper than it is to have nothing at all.
2. Know where your time goes: If you are constantly out of time and feel like you never stop working, this is the year to put an end to it. Where does your time exactly go? There are all kinds of programs and apps that you can use to see where you spend the time when you are on the computer. Another easy method is that for a few days, from the time you wake to the time you go to sleep, write down what you do every 15-30 minutes. I know that sounds crazy, but if you look at all of the hours in the day, no one fills them all with everything productive that they need to do. Find out where you are bleeding time and stick a cork in it!
If there is too much in your business that needs to be done no matter how much time you have or you have ‘stuff’ that needs done that wastes your valuable time, this may be the year for you to get some help. When you break down your time, don’t just say ” Worked on my business”. What did you do? Answer email? Talk with your customers? Write blog posts? Upload newsletters? Specifically what did you do? What takes you the longest? What part of that work do you just not want to deal with? You may not need help full-time, but some part-time help can definitely free you up to do things that are more productive to make you more money. The money that you spend will come back to you.
3. Fuel up on Personal Development: Reading educational books is not taboo. It’s important to feed your brain full of what you need in your life. Even if you only read 8 pages a day it can have a tremendous impact on your life. Your brain is the most powerful business tool that you possess. Why not exercise it to bring you your most powerful year yet? If you tell me you don’t have time to read, I’m going to say baloney and go back to step 2! Listen to it while you are cooking or driving in your car. Audio books counts! Listen to the same thing more than once. Listen passively, then listen actively, then listen taking notes. Get it in your brain more than once and soak it up. Read a book and then listen to it. I don’t care what method you choose, but choose a way to get all of that powerfully positive information into your brain. You will be glad you did!
