Save time on Twitter

Twitter is fast-paced, especially when you have a large size following. If you gain a lot of traffic on Twitter, take advantage of it, but don’t take advantage of the interaction of your audience. Just like another other social media platform, if you don’t talk back to them, they will stop talking to you. No one enjoys a one-sided conversation and no company is too big too be bothered responding to their audience.

Personally, I buy more from brands who acknowledge me, especially when I’m not even tagging them directly and they notice it. Some great people/brands  for that are Gary Vaynerchuk, VitaTops, Aweber, Brownie Brittle and Hootsuite. These brands personally reached out and thanked me and they continue to have my business. I want to make sure that your brand holds to that same standard.

It can be a bit overwhelming, but with a little help, managing Twitter can be a breeze. Here are some outsourcing tips to help save time on Twitter:

1. Schedule it: Twitter is very fast-paced so tweeting every few hours won’t really get you seen by your audience. This is the place where you won’t look like spam in the feed and if you don’t do it enough, you will never get noticed.

If you feel that you are really strapped on time, you can outsource the scheduling. All you have to do is have the content prepared and sit back while your tweets are firing!

2. Thank them: If people retweet your content, it is a big compliment. They enjoy what is being said enough that they would like their audience to read it. Saying thank you is just the kind thing to do. If you get lots of RT’s per hour, you can always put a bunch of them together instead of thanking them individually if you prefer, but who doesn’t love a personal thank you? This is also something that can be outsourced. That way your audience will never miss a beat and they will be appreciated.

3. Spam and DM’s: In your feed, there is always the potential for spam and the same with your inbox. You can outsource the cleaning up of your inbox as well as blocking the spammers that show up in your feed. This can be added on to any other potential work that you ask the administrative consultant to do on social media.

4. Follow back: All kinds of people will follow you, but do you want to follow them all back? In most cases, you don’t. You can outsource to your administrative consultant to take a look at the people following you and determine if they are a good fit for your business. If they are spammers, posting any unsavory content or not in your niche then you won’t have them be followed back. This saves you time from looking through all of the people yourself. If anyone is questionable, they can always ask your thoughts.

5. Manage Flitter: This tool can help with many things and the paid version has even more. With the free version you can look for fake account, people not following back, people that are quiet and people that are inactive. Having someone go through this once a week or every two weeks can save some time.  There are other tools like Twellow to help you to find people to follow as well. These are little things that can eat up your time quickly if you are not paying attention.

I hope that you enjoyed these tips! What do you do to cut back the time that you spend on Twitter? I’d love to hear your ideas!
