We all have that little voice in our head, the one responsible for our fight or flight mode. It sometimes tells us not to do something or to worry about doing something. Worry does NOTHING to help us in our endeavors. It is Tough being a business owner and it is very hard to focus on growing your business when you are struggling to get clients or write your best ads or feeling like you are stuck in a rut with no sign ups. I understand that.. but…
Did you know that you can push that fearful aside and feel awesome pretty much all day long?
Our feelings are our guides. Our intuition that guides us throughout our life. So, if you want to feel awesome, there are things you can do to hush that negative little voice and have the more positive, vibrant voice come forward.
Make a Choice
Happiness is a choice.
You can choose to look at the dark side of the situation or you can focus on the opportunity or the lesson that is ready to be learned in your situation. Sometimes things come into our lives in order to teach you, not punish you.
You can choose to feel miserable about the one thing that you do not have or you can choose joy and focus on the blessings that you do have.
When you are going down a spiral of negativity, see if there is not something — even just one thing — that you can focus on whether it is a past memory or a future hope. Make a choice to focus on that and to live in the moment.
Remember: It takes just as much effort to worry as it does to focus on the positive. Choose Joy. Tweet this
What we focus upon is what we get more of. Our brain actively seeks the things that we think about. If you seem to be a “Negative Nelly” try to incorporate things into your life that make you happier.
For example, place beautiful pictures of real life nature scenes above your office wall.
Create a Vision Board that you can look at of things that make you happy.
Instead of looking at a plain white wall, look at pictures of fields of violets or beautiful sunrises. Focus on the sunrise and you will feel better knowing that each day is a new possibility for anything great to happen.
With a little practice, you can retrain your brain to focus on positive memories and positive thoughts.
If you really want to feel awesome, be in gratitude mode every day. Tweet this
It does not mean that you have to be oblivious to your woes and worries. It does mean, however, that you should find one thing every day for which you can be grateful.
If you focus on the positive, it will grow. If you make a choice every day to smile and be happy, you will get closer to your goals. If you find something every day for which to be grateful, chances are that you will have that much more for which to be grateful.
What changes can you make to your life to feel better?
