It can be TOUGH to do everything in your business unless you are a magician. (which I think is cool if you are and you should have told me) In the beginning, you are able to do it all yourself, minus some of the techie stuff, unless you are into that kinda thing. Past that point, it starts to get tough. You have a LOT of things to keep up on that you didn’t before.
If you want to stop yourself from drowning, you need to decide what you can share with someone else. The best way to do that is to decide which tasks only YOU can do. Past that, the rest can be delegated.
If you are afraid to let go of the reins, that’s normal. Everyone is afraid of losing control. The best part is that you are NOT giving up control. You are taking back control of your time and your business. Tweet this
Once you figure out what you want to release, start letting it go. Don’t think that automatically need a budget for 40 hours a week. No way! You can start small and as your business grows, increase what you take off of your plate.
I work with many clients who want to start with just a few small things. That allows them to get to know my work better if they are not as familiar with me on social media. Others, dive right in and hand it all off. I’ve NEVER heard anyone say that they weren’t relieved afterwards.
Compare the process to losing weight. You are scared to do it and don’t want to because you are nervous and used to being heavier, but you feel SO much better afterwards. Once you release the weight, you don’t want it back.
Same applies to tasks that are a heavy burden. You are HAPPY to be getting rid of stuff and having someone else take care of it.
As an exercise, the first step is to list it all. Even the small things that get in your way that you don’t necessarily need to do. Then rank it in order of importance. Also include things that you don’t know how to do and don’t need to/don’t want to learn.
Relief is just an email away!
