Buckle up! Facebook is bringing in some changes that are really going to have a great impact on your customer base. This is going to be fun so let’s dig right in.
I’ll admit it was a very nice surprise to see that replies are now an option. It is a great way to speak directly to your clients so they are more engaged in the conversation. The one thing that I did notice was that posts that were live before the option was given to do give ‘Reply’ as an option, but every new post does. Comments are also being prioritized by engagement so the ones with the most will surface to the top.
Larger Facebook pages have had this feature for quite some time now and I have heard first hand that they enjoyed it. Pages that had over 10,000 fans got the option automatically, but those with fewer could add the option manually. I really enjoy it and love the new level of engagement that it allows.
Facebook is making the rules on covers a bit more lenient. The 20% text rule still applies, but now you may add a Call To Action (CTA) as long as it is not deceptive or encouraging others to post your cover on their profile. This will allow businesses to be a bit more creative with their covers. How nice is that?
You can use this handy tool right here to make sure that you are compliant with the 20% text rule.
Ready to take your target market to the next level? Facebook has released Lookalike Audiences that works in conjunction with your Custom Audience. According to Facebook: “Lookalike audiences help you reach people who are similar to your current customers for fan acquisition, site registration, off-Facebook purchases, coupon claims and brand awareness.”
