Have you ever noticed that some brands are ALWAYS on the ball. They are always ready for any holiday for special occasion and they seem to upgrade everything seamlessly. This is not by coincidence. Their secret is being prepared way in advance. These are the people that are already planning 6 months to a year ahead and sit back and relax while everyone else scrambles and they rake in the money.
YOU can be one of those people.
One way to do that is to plan out your social media covers in advance. If you are getting bored of looking at it, your audience certainly is. Changing up your cover will usually strike up a conversation in your audience too. You can get a good feeling for if they love it!
Here are 6 Fun and Creative Ideas for Social Media Covers so you can have a new one every month (or more!)
Celebrate the Holidays: These seem like a no-brainers, but when they sneak up on you, you are caught with your pants down and stuck with the same one that you always have. When you make them in advance, you can mark it on your calendar to change them up to something fresh. There is a fun way to change up the cover for all of the holidays or the ones that resonate the most with your audience. The great part is that it’s up to you!
Invitation to Facebook Events/Twitter Chats: If you have a regular Twitter chat, or one that is only going on for a limited time, get that on your cover! Same thing goes if you are hosting a Facebook event. On Facebook you can make the cover clickable so that people can read the description and go directly to your event.
Upcoming Sales: There is no shame in promoting your new product, service, ebook in your cover photos. Just like the events, add a description to the image when you change the cover to drive some extra traffic to whatever you are offering. It is fun to make a few different covers. Some that are the lead up to the launch and then covers that change when the launch is live.
Milestones: Have you reached a mile marker of followers? Has your business reached an anniversary? Celebrating subscribers? Make a fun cover to thank your fans for helping you get there and be part of your community.
Online Summits: Summits are a huge trend and your cover can drive more people to sign up for it. With reach decreasing on Facebook and Twitter moving so fast, it is easy to miss your regular posts. You cover photos can help drive more attention to your summit.
Just for Fun: There is nothing wrong with changing your cover to just be fun and reflect you. It can be lifestyle photos in a collage or images of you working/creating your product to give a glimpse behind the scenes. This allows your audience to see all the sides of you and have them get to know you more intimately by letting them in to see your personality.
Depending on your industry, you can add even more ideas to this list. Some of these you will need to create as things happen, but for others, you can have them made ahead of time so that they are easy to change out. You don’t need just one cover for each holiday either. You can make several to keep it fresh. Covers are prime space that draw the eye so make them work for you!
