If it seems like you are spending too much time on Facebook, you probably are. Ideally you want to check in several times throughout the day to engage with your audience, but what happens when it starts taking up TOO much of your time? Can you not spend your entire life there? You can! Here are 5 quick ways for business owners to spend less time on Facebook

1. Get help with engagement: If you have a relatively large following, chances are that a lot of comments made by your audience are going to get missed. If you have hundreds of people answering at a time, you are not expected to respond to them all, but most can easily fall through the cracks if you don’t keep up on it. This is vitally important if you miss out on questions that are strewn in the middle of them. If you feel like you are on there all day, get some help to engage with your audience. Even if someone is there an hour a day to engage, answer questions and watch for messages on your wall. This can cut the time that you check in down dramatically.

2. Help in Facebook groups: If you are running any type of a training group, people are going to be in there talking all day long. You can not spend the entire day sitting in there talking or trying to field questions. If you get some help you can have someone to watch for questions from the group and answer them or forward them on to you if they don’t know the answer. That person can also put up posts or files for you as well. You definitely want to keep checking in yourself, but you won’t have to do it as frequently.

3. Stay off Chat: Taking questions from potential clients through chat can end up as a nightmare. Once you start doing it, you can’t stop. Don’t be afraid to tell someone to email your client care department or to ask the question on your Facebook wall. That way you or the person helping you can answer your question. It may even be a question that other people would like the answer to as well. Spend your time chatting after hours, but make sure that its not about business.

4. Bouncing, Spammers, Stalkers and Swearers: It can be easy to miss, but you know that there are people out there that will try to pollute your page. The larger your following is, the more complicated it becomes. With some help, you can have someone watching for all of the people that are trying to promote garbage on your page, swearing or abusing other people in the community. When you have someone watching on a regular basis, this will help keep your community clean and your audience will really appreciate it.

5. Larger Posts: If you do larger posts on a regular basis that include pictures such as recipes, it can be daunting to post them everyday and then take the link, shorten it, copy it and then add it for scheduling on your other platforms. This is something that you can easily outsource to have done for you as far in advance as you would like. This is especially helpful if this is something that you do daily and it can save you hours per month.
