‘Tis the season to be spending! Over the holidays, you know that you are going to need some extra money. Perhaps you would like a little less stress and want to pass off some of the tasks you don’t have time to do, or better yet, don’t want to do. If you have already planned out your business holiday budget and are coming up short it’s not too late. Here are 3 ways to start making extra holiday business cash to give yourself the gift of peace of mind.

1. Sell Sell Sell!: Take a good look around your house. If you have been organizing your home and office you are going to notice items that have not been touched in a while. A good rule of thumb is that if you have not used it in a year, chances are you aren’t going to use it anytime soon.  Perhaps you have some things that you have always said that you were going to sell and never got around to it. Stop putting it off and go do it! E-bay is always a great place to sell as well as Craigslist. If you buy books and only ever look over them and won’t read it again or have it on an e-reader you can sell those off too. Those are not going to be a lot of money, but every penny counts.

2. Bye Bye Latte: I LOVE my specialty tea and coffee as much as the next person, but if you need some extra money to outsource, you need to look at where you can cut corners. If you want your business succeed and you want to enjoy the holiday you really need to see where your money is going. An average coffee is about $4-$5 a piece. Even if you only drink it four times in a week, that is still $16-$20/week. I’ve actually gotten pretty good at making a close version of my favorite drinks at home for a fraction of the price. You know what vice you have that can save money for you.

3. Coupons are your friend: Even if you have never clipped a coupon a day in your life it is easy to learn. No one is expecting you to be on one of those extreme programs.  Take a peek at the different places you can shop and cut them out. Compare the circulars and find what will save you the most money. The other trick is to write your list and stick to it. Around the holidays grocery stores mail out certain dollar amounts off of your purchase. You can also save a ton of cash if any of the items you need can be purchased in bulk. Use what works best for you.

Got any tips that you use to come up with some extra holiday biz cash? I’d love to hear them!
